Week 10 Case Review: Signal versus self-report
Scoring your case on all seven behavioural signals over the last month, instead of asking how things are going
26 April 2027
Before the session#
For your case, estimate all seven signals over the last month: initiation rate, disclosure rate, reciprocity balance, cost of the signal, specificity of the signal, persistence, and repair speed.
In the session#
The room compares each person’s signal trends against what they would have said if simply asked “how’s it going” — the gap between the two is the point of the exercise, not a verdict on any individual case. Groups also flag which of the seven signals is doing the most work for their case; it is rarely the same one twice.
Afterwards#
Trends, not snapshots, matter here. Keep tracking all seven signals weekly through the rest of the course; the final audit in week 12 draws on a trend, and a trend needs more than one data point.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can estimate all seven signals for your case over the last month, from memory or a message log
- you can say whether each signal is trending, and in which direction
- you can name the one signal that would be most expensive for either party to fake
