Week 8 Case Review: Situationship clinic
Classifying stalled cases in the room against the three named failure modes, and proposing the specific fix each one implies
12 April 2027
Before the session#
Bring a stalled case — your own if it applies, or volunteer to work someone else’s with their consent.
In the session#
Clinic format: each case gets classified against the three failure modes in turn, out loud, with the room pushing back on any classification that doesn’t cite specific evidence. The fix follows from the classification, not from general advice.
Afterwards#
Classified cases feed directly into the case study portfolio due next week — you’ll need at least one worked example of each failure mode, so trade notes with classmates whose case landed on a mode yours didn’t.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can classify a stalled case (yours or a classmate's, with consent) as asymmetric-cost, sunk-specificity, or silent-substitute
- you can state the specific fix the classification implies, not a general one
