Week 1 Case Review: Orientation
The first case review — naming a real situation in the model's terms before the model has given you any terms to name it with
22 February 2027
Before the session#
Bring the two-sentence situation and the observable-success statement above. Composites are fine and, for anything involving a third party’s private details, preferred — the model doesn’t need a true story, it needs a plausible one.
In the session#
The room sorts submitted situations into “has a position” and “does not have a position yet,” then works through why a few of the second group are stuck. Most of the stuck cases turn out to be feelings statements wearing a situation’s clothes.
Afterwards#
Each person leaves with a one-paragraph statement of their case rewritten in two-party terms. That paragraph is the thing every later case review builds on, so keep it.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can describe a specific situation (yours, a friend's, or a plausible composite) in two sentences without naming anyone
- you can state what "success" would look like for that situation in terms a stranger could check
