Who teaches the course, which weeks each of us takes, and what to bring to whom.

Three of us, from three fields that do not usually share a reading list. That is deliberate: a course arguing that no single discipline settles a question about intelligence would be in a poor position to be taught by one person from one department.

Ask the person closest to the problem. Rosalind for organism choice and anything in the comparative weeks; Tuyet for the quizzes, the certainty scale, and how to read a methods section; Halvard for assessment, extensions, and any case where you think an evidence grade on this site is wrong. The last of those happens most years and the corrections get attributed.

Halvard Emms

Convenor

Convenor. Works on underdetermination and the epistemology of measurement, and teaches weeks 1, 11 and 12 — the evidence standard, the audit of the course's own sources, and the blind spot.

Rosalind Achebe

Evolutionary biologist working on convergent cognition in invertebrates. Teaches the comparative weeks and marks the cognitive profiles.

Tuyet Nabarro

Neuroscientist. Teaches the weeks on prediction and the self-model, and supervises the calibrated quizzes.
