My research is on predictive coding in sensory cortex, which means I spend most of my time on the gap between what arrives at a sense organ and what a system does with it. That gap is where this course lives.
I teach weeks 5, 6 and 7. Week 6 is the one people find most destabilising, and I would rather you were destabilised in the seminar than three weeks later in an assessment.
What to ask me#
The quizzes, especially the certainty scale — most students misuse it for the first fortnight and then it clicks. Also anything about reading a methods section, which is the skill the course assumes and does not teach directly.
