Week 12 Run: Feel — Juice, Feedback, and Designing the Moment of Loss
The capstone run — the same failure event, felt two different ways, and the final project critique
10 May 2027
Nothing this semester has argued that failure needs to feel bad. Some of it has argued the opposite: that how a fail state is presented — the shake, the flash, the sound — is doing as much work as the mechanic underneath it. This is the week that argument gets tested directly, and the week your own fail state gets shown to the room.
Before the session#
Run the juice comparison on the lecture page with feedback on and off. Bring your final project ready to run in front of the class.
In the session#
Short live demos of everyone’s final project, judged first on whether the fail state is legible on sight, then on whether it says anything the rest of the semester hadn’t already said better.
Afterwards#
Final projects are due at the end of the semester. This is the last taught session.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can name what "juice" adds to an outcome without changing its logic
- you have tried the week's live demo with feedback on and off
- you can present your final project's fail state in under three minutes
