The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity and getting help.
Policies and support#
Assessment briefs link back here rather than restating these rules, so read this page once and refer back to it rather than to memory.
Late work#
Work submitted after the deadline loses 5% of the available marks per day, to a maximum of five days, after which it is marked as a fail state the course did not design on purpose: not accepted. If a genuine circumstance gets in the way of a deadline, ask for an extension before the deadline passes, not after.
Extensions#
Email the convenor before the deadline with what happened and how long you need. Extensions are granted for illness, misadventure, and similar disruptions — not for a checkpoint you wish you’d placed earlier in your own schedule. Short extensions (a few days) are usually approved on request; longer ones may need supporting documentation.
Academic integrity#
Declare any assistance you used beyond the course’s own tools and each other’s feedback in session — an AI assistant, a collaborator, a published source you drew from directly. Undeclared assistance is treated as misrepresenting the work as entirely your own, which is the one fail state in this course with no respawn.
Getting help#
For a question about the material: ask in session, or bring it to office hours. For a question about your own submission: email the person marking it, named on the people page. For anything else, email the convenor. Nobody on this course expects you to have already worked it out alone before asking.
