Assessment

Every piece of graded work in the course, what it is worth, and when it is due.

Three pieces of graded work, each building on the weeks before it. Weight, due date, and task are below — the detail sits on each assessment’s own page.

Apology Autopsy

Diagnose a real public apology using the component model, then redesign it into one that would actually work

Due 26 March 2027 · Weight: 25%

The Constrained Apology

Given a scenario with real constraints, decide whether, when, and how to respond — and defend every decision against the alternatives you rejected

Due 7 May 2027 · Weight: 35%

Final Project: Reconsidering "Perfect"

A full apology-design report on a complex harm, closing with an argued answer to what "perfect" turned out to mean, against your own Week 1 definition

Due 28 May 2027 · Weight: 30%

When it’s all due

Every teaching week, alongside its session (sessions are graded too — see Sessions) and, in three weeks, an assessment deadline.

  1. Week 1 · lecture 22 February 2027

    What Is an Apology, Actually?
  2. Week 4 · lecture 15 March 2027

    The Non-ApologySession 3: Spot the Non-Apology
