The Dogecoin Foundation
The Dogecoin Foundation is the non-profit behind Dogecoin, the community-driven cryptocurrency that started as a joke and kept going anyway. The foundation doesn't run Dogecoin day to day — nobody does, that's the point of a decentralised currency — but it funds the people who maintain it, defends the Dogecoin name from being misused, and tries to keep the project pointed somewhere sensible for the next ten years.
This page exists because the foundation's real site splits "what Dogecoin is" (on dogecoin.com) from "who looks after it" (on a separate foundation.dogecoin.com), so working out who's actually accountable for what takes several clicks across two domains. Everything here lives in one place instead.
Fund development
Pays for the engineers who maintain the Dogecoin protocol itself.
Defend the trademark
Stops the Dogecoin name and branding being used for scams or unrelated projects trading on the name.
Set a trailmap
Publishes where the project is headed, so the roadmap isn't a rumour.
