ANU Robotics & RC Club

We build robots. You can too.

A student club for anyone into robotics and remote-controlled engineering — from a first CAD sketch to a bot on a competition floor. No prior experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to solder something.

What we build

Workshops, builds, and competition goals

Workshops
Hands-on CAD and 3D-printing sessions — design something, then print it.
RC excursions
Organised trips out to local RC tracks to run what we've built.
Showcases
Regular project showcases to demo builds and find collaborators.
Campus racing
Mini racing competitions run right here on campus.

Longer-term, we're chasing competition floors — RoboCup, F1TENTH, VEX Robotics. Battle Bots isn't a someday goal, though — we co-run Canberra BattleBots with UC Robo right now: 150g antweight combat robots, workshops and starter kits provided, an exhibition match and a main competition day each year.

Beyond campus

Industry trips overseas

Alongside workshops and campus builds, we run international trips to see how robotics and RC engineering work at industry scale:

Japan
Robotics company and RC shop visits.
China
Manufacturing lines, plus DJI and Tencent.
New Zealand
A visit to Auckland's "Endgame" team.

What it actually looks like

Workshops, builds, and campus events, as they happen:

Get involved

Three ways in, right now

Not an eventual member list — live openings, right now, at every level of commitment.

Membership

New club, all skill levels

We're building from scratch — first-timers and veteran builders sit at the same table. No application, no portfolio, just curiosity.
