Every rescued animal deserves a happy, loving home

Canberra Pet Rescue is a volunteer-run, foster-based charity that has been rescuing cats, dogs and other pets in the Canberra region for over ten years, with no shelter building and no government funding, just a network of foster carers opening up their homes.

Adopt

How adoption works

  1. Browse

Look through adoptable pets and their foster carers' write-ups.

  2. Enquire

Submit an expression of interest when you're ready and able to adopt.

  3. Meet

Shortlisted applicants have a video interview; dogs also need an in-person meeting.

  4. Bring them home

Adoption day starts a two-week trial, with a full refund if it isn't the right fit.
