Canberra REP is entirely volunteer-run, and there isn't one single "join up" path — membership, volunteering, REP Studio, and donating are four different relationships with the company, and which one fits depends on what you're actually after.

Membership

Membership is for regular audience members: it doesn't involve volunteering time, just discounted tickets. A Full membership is $50 a year and gets 24% off your own ticket and one friend's ticket to every show, plus 70% off workshops and Studio events and Friday Happy Hour drink discounts. Concession ($30), Junior ($15), Distance ($20), Double ($80) and Concession Double ($45) options exist for different circumstances.

Contribute time and skills

Volunteering

Volunteering is hands-on and unpaid — this is where people who want to make theatre, not just watch it, start. REP runs entirely on volunteers across acting, stage management, set design, set construction, properties, lighting and sound, wardrobe, hair and makeup, front of house, and general maintenance. Every area is beginner-friendly and mentored, so no prior experience is assumed.

Develop new work

REP Studio

REP Studio is the company's experimental and developmental program, separate from its mainstage season. It runs Director's Workshops (paid, limited places), casual Play Readings, and the 'Logues, REP Studio's flagship playwriting competition. It's the entry point if what interests you is developing new work rather than joining an existing production.

Support without time commitment

Donate

Canberra REP is a registered charity, so donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Donations are accepted online, by phone, or in person at the box office. If you'd rather give indirectly, REP also participates in the Southern Cross Club Community Rewards scheme, Shopnate, and Return-it (REP's Return-it code is E014732) — small, no-cost ways to direct existing spending toward the company.
