Two very different top 10 lists: one ranked by raw battle power, and one ranked by pure trainer opinion (mine!). Don't @ me about the second one.
Top 10 Strongest (by base stat total)
Added up every base stat — HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed — straight from the game data.
Mewtwo
Total 680 — a genetically engineered Legendary built to be the strongest Pokemon alive.
Dragonite
Total 600 — the fully-evolved Dragon/Flying type, famously kind despite its size.
Mew
Total 600 — the Mythical ancestor of Mewtwo, said to contain the DNA of every Pokemon.
Articuno
Total 580 — one of the three Legendary birds, said to bring snow wherever it flies.
Zapdos
Total 580 — the Electric/Flying Legendary bird, usually found near the Power Plant.
Moltres
Total 580 — the Fire/Flying Legendary bird that nests inside a volcano.
Arcanine
Total 555 — a Legendary-tier stat line without actually being Legendary.
Gyarados
Total 540 — proof that Magikarp was hiding something scary the whole time.
Snorlax
Total 540 — famously blocks roads across Kanto just by napping on them.
Lapras
Total 535 — a gentle Water/Ice type that'll happily ferry your whole team across the sea.
Top 10 Trainer Favorites (my personal picks)
Not about stats at all — just the Pokemon I like the most, in no particular order except that Pikachu is obviously #1.
Pikachu
My starter and the face of the whole franchise. Non-negotiable #1.
Charizard
The poster Pokemon for "worth the grind." That final evolution never gets old.
Mewtwo
Strong AND has a whole tragic backstory from the first movie. What more do you want?
Zapdos
The Legendary bird with the best entrance. Nothing beats that Thunderbolt.
Gengar
The best Ghost-type design in the original 151, hands down.
Gyarados
The best glow-up in the whole Pokedex, no contest.
Arcanine
Legendary-tier presence without actually being Legendary. Looks incredible in battle.
Snorlax
Big, sleepy, and unbothered. A mood, and a great wall to hide behind in battle.
Machamp
Four arms, zero patience. A gym-battle wrecking ball.
Ditto
Underrated and endlessly weird. Respect for a Pokemon that can be any Pokemon.
