WELCOME TO MY LITTLE BOARD-GAME WORLD
Rules Archive
Reference files and house rulings for the Eurogames on this board's shelf — not scans of anyone's rulebook, just the SysOp's own notes on how the house classifies difficulty and handles the arguments that come up at the table.
House Difficulty Bands
Every archive on this board is filed under one of four bands, based on a game's BoardGameGeek community weight rating — the average of how complex players who've logged the game rate it, on a scale from 1 to 5. These bands are an Amber Dice house classification, not an official BGG or publisher category.
NOTICE: the weight itself is a complexity estimate, not a quality score: a low-weight filler game can still be a great game, and a high weight is not praise.
On Weight and Experience
These boundaries are approximate, not exact thresholds. A community weight rating is an average across many players with different backgrounds, so a game near a band edge can feel lighter or heavier than its filed category depending on how much experience you already have with similar mechanisms. Treat the band as a starting expectation for a session, not a guarantee of how it will play at this table.
Table Protocol: Undoing a Move (Proposed)
One recurring source of house friction is a mistaken purchase or move that a player wants to walk back after the fact. What follows is a proposed protocol, not a report of how any group here has actually settled it: before play starts, rather than mid-dispute, a group could agree up front whether a mistaken move or purchase may be undone or handed off to another player, and under what circumstances. This board's own regular table never reached a final ruling on the question — the argument simply recurred, session after session, unresolved. This is an idea for other groups to try, not an official rule of any published game, and it will not appear in any rulebook.
