Every base, Allied or Soviet, begins with a Construction Yard, and every base ends when its Construction Yard falls. It is the single structure from which all others are built, and field officers on both sides are drilled from their first day to defend it above everything else standing on the map.
| Role | Primary base structure; enables all other construction |
|---|---|
| Armour | Heavy |
| Power draw | None (consumes no power) |
| Deployable | Yes — packs into a mobile construction vehicle |
Function
The Construction Yard is what lets a commander place every other building on this list — Barracks, War Factory, Power Plant, Refinery, and whatever defensive structures the terrain calls for. Lose it, and your base is frozen exactly as it stands: no repairs, no new structures, no way to rebuild what the enemy destroys next. For this reason it is, without exception, the single most valuable target on any battlefield.
Mobility
Unlike most structures, a Construction Yard can be packed back into a Mobile Construction Vehicle and relocated — a tactic desperate commanders on both sides have used to save a base moments before it would otherwise have fallen. Redeploying costs time and leaves the vehicle vulnerable mid-transit, so it is a last resort, not a standing strategy. Still, more than one campaign battle has been decided by a commander choosing to run rather than stand.
Field notes
Defend this structure with layered defences, not a single line — any breach that reaches the Construction Yard directly usually ends the engagement in the attacker's favour. Commanders who spread their base's defensive structures around the Construction Yard, rather than clustering firepower at the perimeter alone, tend to survive raids that would otherwise have gone straight to the heart of the base.
