RA Central is a non-commercial student project built for a university course. It documents Command & Conquer: Red Alert, a game it neither made nor owns, and it illustrates that documentation with low-resolution stills placed beside descriptive text. This page records exactly what was used and where it came from, because a site that borrows other people’s work should say so plainly.
Game imagery
Command & Conquer, Red Alert, and all related imagery are trademarks and copyright © Electronic Arts Inc. and Westwood Studios. This is a non-commercial student fan project used for educational purposes. EA has not endorsed and does not support this product.
To be accurate about the licensing rather than vague: no licence grants redistribution of this art. EA’s 2008 freeware release of Red Alert made the game free to play, not free to reuse, and the 2020 and 2025 open-source releases covered the games’ source code explicitly — not their art, music or data. EA’s modding guidelines do license C&C assets, but only as part of a mod, and a wiki is not a mod. What this site relies on instead is the same footing as every other fan wiki: non-commercial, educational, low-resolution use alongside commentary, which EA’s content policy tolerates for “personal projects such as fan sites”. Images are hosted here rather than hot-linked so as not to draw on anyone else’s bandwidth.
Freely licensed material
The two real-world nation pages use genuine public-domain flags rather than game art, which suits them better anyway.

Type and technique
- W95FA by Alina Sava — a scalable re-creation of the Windows 95 UI typeface, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Vendored into this repository as the licence permits.
- The bevelled window and button styling adapts the four-layer inset box-shadow technique from 98.css by Jordan Scales, under the MIT licence.
- Reference material on the game itself came from the Command & Conquer Wiki, whose text is licensed CC BY-SA 3.0.
- No JavaScript is used anywhere on this site. The browser chrome, the loading animation, the scrolling ticker and the scrollbars are all CSS.
Honest omissions
Two things here are set-dressing rather than function, and it would be misleading not to say so. The taskbar clock shows a fixed time and the visitor counter shows a fixed number: both would need JavaScript or a server, and this site has neither. The four theatre pages illustrate real Red Alert mission maps rather than the multiplayer maps they describe, because those maps have no artwork behind them.
