Links
A links page is the most 1996 thing a homepage can have, and also the most useful. I know less than the people below. Go and read them.
Still alive
- Wikipedia: Sable — where most of the facts on this page actually came from. I am not going to pretend otherwise; a personal homepage citing its sources honestly is rarer than it should be.
- iNaturalist — the nearest thing I have to a window into the taiga. Occurrence records and photographs from people who actually went there.
- IUCN Red List — the conservation status, which for this species is currently the least dramatic entry on the list: Least Concern.
Everything on this site that is not marked (fictional) traces back to that single Wikipedia article: the taxonomy, the range, the delayed implantation, the hybridisation with pine martens, the fur-trade history, and the kolinsky brush correction all come from there. Anywhere this site invents a detail — a regional reputation, a guestbook entry — it says so.
