Test whether a "personalised" line still holds true for ten other readers, then write one that only holds for this one.

Exercise: test a line (30 min)#

Find a line of “personalisation” in a cold email addressed to you. Try to rewrite it so it would also be true, word for word, of ten other recipients. If you can, it wasn’t personalisation.

Exercise: make it fail the test (30 min)#

Write a version of the same line that would be false for anyone else, committing to a detail specific enough that it couldn’t be sent to a different reader without becoming wrong.
