Sort five real subject lines by whether a reader could act on them unopened, then rewrite the ones that fail.

Exercise: sort five subject lines (30 min)#

Take five subject lines from real cold emails you’ve received or sent. For each, decide whether a reader could correctly sort it without opening the message: whether it concerns them, and whether it’s time-sensitive. Mark each pass or fail.

Exercise: rewrite the failures (30 min)#

For every subject line that failed, rewrite it so it survives on its own. Note exactly what information you had to move up from the body to make that possible.
