Weekly Syncs: Attendance and Completion
A weekly sync is a tutorial where you work through that week's task in class. To pass the course you must complete at least 8 of the 12.
Due: Weekly, in class
A weekly sync is like a tutorial. Each teaching week has a short set of exercises tied to it, and you work through them here, in a structured in-class setting, rather than on your own. You can find each week’s task under that week on the Weekly Syncs tab.
There are three weekly sync sessions each week, all covering the same task at different times, so you can pick whichever fits your timetable. Times and locations are on the course home page.
The tasks are short. You are expected to have watched the lecture or read through that week’s slides before you come, since the sync builds on that rather than repeating it.
What happens if you miss one#
If you miss a weekly sync, it does not count towards your 8 of 12. There is no informal way to make it up. The only route is the University’s extenuating circumstances process (an ECA), described on the policies page. If your application is approved, that week’s sync is set aside and does not count against the 8-of-12 requirement. If it is not approved, the sync counts as missed.
How it is marked
The course is graded CRS (pass/fail) and does not count towards your GPA. You pass a weekly sync by showing up, engaging, and finishing the in-class task within class time, submitted through Canvas.
