Three pieces — field notes, an audit of one place, and a proposal that a place should exist. 25 / 30 / 45.

Assessment

Three pieces, and they are the same skill at three magnitudes: record a room, argue about a room, argue that a room should exist.

Two of them rest on places you physically went. There is no examination, and there is no way to pass this course from a library.

Field Notes

Your raw notes from the first four Rounds, submitted as written, plus one page on what your own notes turned out to be blind to.

Due 26 March 2027 · Weight: 25%

The Place Audit

One place, held against the evidence rather than against the eight rules. 2500 words, with your own observation as the primary material.

Due 30 April 2027 · Weight: 30%

Proposal for a Good Place

Argue that somewhere should exist. A real site, a real cost, a stated boundary, and evidence you can defend under questioning.

Due 28 May 2027 · Weight: 45%
