Dr Wren Halloway
Course convenor. Designed SLOP3841 after a decade on hiring panels, and teaches the thing she spent that decade watching candidates get wrong.
Wren spent ten years on the other side of the table — graduate panels, mid- career shortlists, and the part of the process where three hundred documents are reduced to twelve in an afternoon. She built SLOP3841 out of the pattern she could not stop seeing there: capable people losing rooms they could have held, because nobody had told them the room was a performance and that performing well is a learnable, legitimate skill.
She opens every semester by naming which parts of her own job she is still performing, with examples. It is the only demonstration of the method that cannot be faked.
Wren convenes the course and teaches weeks 1, 5, 11 and 12, plus the week-8 red team with Anselm Pike. Bring her course-level questions, anything a stream convenor has escalated, and any suspicion that a session is teaching the wrong side of the line between framing and fabrication.
