Nadia Ferrante

Nadia runs her own studio and reviews portfolios for a living — junior hires, freelance shortlists, and the awards panels where four hundred entries are cut to thirty in a weekend. She can name the exact slide where she stopped reading, and she will, which students find bracing for roughly one tutorial and useful for the remaining eleven.

She teaches sequencing as a discipline rather than as taste: the order of a portfolio is an argument, and most junior portfolios are a pile with the argument left out. She is equally firm that finish is not the same as substance, and that the gap between them is visible from across a room.

Nadia convenes Creative and Communications Practice, delivers the week-6 lecture on varnish and its flagship deck, and hosts one leg of the week-10 guest relay. She also refuses unpaid test briefs professionally, and teaches how in week 10.
