Week 3: What a spinner is allowed to say

The indeterminate progress indicator, read as a component with exactly one message and a great deal of silence around it.

A spinner says one thing. Something is happening. It does not say what, it does not say how much is left, and it does not say whether the something is going well.

The lecture takes that silence seriously rather than treating it as a gap waiting for a better component. A system that knows how long a job will take and shows a spinner anyway has chosen not to tell you, and that choice is available far more often than a component library suggests.
