Week 5: Tools in Anger: One Assignment, Forty Minutes, Zero Remorse
Week 5 — last week's toolkit under an actual clock, live, with every failure left in the recording
22 March 2027
Parkinson’s law holds that “work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion,” so this week removes the time and watches what survives. Chu and Choi’s research on active procrastination backs the bet: some people genuinely perform better against a real deadline than a comfortable one, and this lecture is a live test of whether that generalises to a room full of students.

- what breaks under time pressure that didn’t break in rehearsal
- how to fold a visible failure back into the pitch instead of hiding it
- what “midsem revision” is actually going to revise
