Week 2: The Store's Real Floor Plan
Why the shortest path to what you need is never the path the aisles give you
1 March 2027
Every printed floor plan lies by omission: it shows where things are, not the path you’re forced to take to reach them. We read the aisle order as a strategy imposed on a body it doesn’t know, and your habitual route as the tactic that body improvises in return.
Outline#
- strategy versus tactic, applied to a real store’s floor plan
- why milk lives at the back in nearly every supermarket you’ve entered
- what the detour costs you, in steps and in attention
