Case 12 — The Slop Report
Final case presentations, and the submission of a full independent investigation
10 May 2027
Twelve weeks of casework end with your own case, chosen by you, argued to a standard nobody had to tell you to meet by the end.
Before the session#
Have a five-minute version of your Assignment 4 investigation ready to present, distinct from the full written report — a courtroom summary, not a recitation of your working notes.
In the session#
Presentations, in short blocks with real questions from the room. You are being asked what any investigator is asked at the end of a case: what did you find, how sure are you, and what would change your mind.
Afterwards#
Assignment 4 is due at the end of the semester, not today — today is the dry run. Use the room’s questions to find the part of your report that isn’t as solid as you thought it was, while there’s still time to fix it.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can present your investigation to the class in under five minutes
- your final report would be legible to someone who was not in this course
