Week 7 Lobby Lab: Build along
One bot match following a recommended build exactly, with the build order written down and marked up as you buy
22 April 2027
What to bring#
A hero you have never played, and the in-game recommended build for it.
How it runs#
One bot match, following the guide exactly, changing nothing. Write the build order down before the game starts. As you buy each item, mark it off and write one word beside it for what it is for.
Bring the marked-up list to the tutor at the end — the disagreements between what you wrote and what the tutor would have written are the lesson.
How you know it went well#
You finished the game on an unfamiliar hero without improvising, every item on your list carries a word for what it does, and you can point to at least one place you wanted to deviate and say what you would have bought instead.
The spec
What the tutor is checking for by the end of the session — not that you understood the drill, but that you did it, in a form somebody else in the room could confirm.
- you followed one build guide for a whole game without changing it
- every item on your written order carries a word for what it does
- you marked at least one place you wanted to deviate, and what you would have bought instead
