Week 10 Session: Week 10: Minutes Make Memory
How the written record becomes the decision, regardless of what actually happened in the room — and the Alignment Lab's reveal and consequence test, run this week against the record your group already produced.
26 April 2027
Before the session#
Bring your group’s finished decision record and your own negotiation log from this past week’s pre-meeting contact window and decision meeting. If your group has not yet produced a decision record, do so before this session starts — the reveal below assumes one exists.
In the session#
A short lecture segment opens the session: six months after any meeting, almost no one consults their memory of it — they consult the minutes. If the minutes say the vote was unanimous, it was unanimous for every purpose that matters afterwards, whatever the room actually felt like at the time. That gap between “what happened” and “what was written down as having happened” is why the decision record template asks for evidence relied on and unverified assumptions separately, not just a verdict.
The rest of the session runs the Lab’s reveal and consequence test: each group’s decision record is read against the private information every role card held that never made it into the record, and against the consequence rules on the Alignment Lab page. This produces a concrete change to the scenario each group carries forward — not a mark at this stage, but new information or a new constraint your Week 11 retrospective will have to account for.
After the session#
Keep your revealed information and whatever consequence applied to your group — you will need both for the Alignment Lab retrospective and partial rerun, due at the start of Week 11, before that session runs.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- can explain why, once a meeting ends, the minutes function as the decision for every purpose except the memories of the people who were there
- has taken part in the Alignment Lab's reveal and consequence test, and can name what changed for their group as a result
