Self-review#
I migrated 19 services from the old deployment pipeline to Deploy Platform v2 after Milestone 1, and handled the two incidents in March that the migration surfaced. Before that I built the backend of the onboarding portal with Tom. I reviewed Jonas’s webhook retry work. I closed 27 tickets and merged 20 pull requests, but most of the migration work was not ticketed because it was not in the plan. I would like next quarter to include something I chose.
Peer feedback#
From Tom Okwuosa, nominated by Kenji. Kenji and I were on the calls for both v2 incidents. He knew what had broken before the dashboards did, because he had migrated the service the week before. He also did most of the portal backend with me. He is the person on this team I would want in the room when something goes wrong.
From Aisha Rahman, assigned. Kenji did the migration work, which was the plan; Milestone 1 was always going to be followed by a migration phase. He was careful and the incidents were resolved quickly. I would like him to be more visible about the work so that it gets the credit.
What the last manager left#
- Migration guy. Doing the v2 rollout.
- On call a lot in March.
- Should be more visible. Nobody outside the team knows his name.
The announcement#
None. Aisha’s v2 announcement thanks “the team” for the collaboration.
Where they sit#
Reports to your line. Does not own v2; does the work on it. Handled both incidents logged against v2. Almost all of his communication is direct messages to Aisha and Tom.
