Self-review#
I closed 33 tickets (C) and merged 26 pull requests (C), most of them in the payments API. I reviewed 118 pull requests (C), which is about a third of the team’s total (E); the reviews for Lena’s work alone took roughly a day a week (E). I handled one incident in January (C). I asked to shadow Daniel on reconciliation twice and it did not happen (C). I did not launch anything this quarter. Nothing on this list is remarkable and I do not think it needs to be.
Peer feedback#
From Kenji Watanabe, nominated by Grace. Grace is the best reviewer on the team. She catches the thing that would have paged us at 3 am. Nobody thanks her for the incidents that did not happen, so I am doing it here.
From Lena Fischer, assigned. Grace blocks pull requests. She asks for changes on things that are fine and it slows the board down. She is thorough, I will say that.
What the last manager left#
- Thorough. Sometimes too thorough, according to Lena.
- Slow to approve. Have not looked into whether that is a problem.
- Nothing dramatic this quarter. Nothing ever is, with Grace.
The announcement#
None this quarter.
Where they sit#
Reports to your line. Reviews most of the team’s code and all of Lena’s. On the incident rota. Has asked twice to become the second owner of reconciliation.
