Marisol has been taking notes on the worst moment in every game she has ever lost since long before it was a research interest. Fail States grew out of a long-running argument with a colleague over whether Celeste’s Assist Mode “counts” — a question this course now spends an entire week refusing to answer cleanly.
Office hours are informal: whoever is losing at something in the games lab on Wednesday afternoons is welcome to ask a question in between attempts.
