Getting in touch
Use Ed Discussions for anything about course material or assignments; everyone else benefits from the answer. For administrative or private matters, email Felipe directly, and reach out early if you're struggling: it's easier to help with early than late.
Final marks and grades
To pass, you need to satisfy both of these:
- Score at least 50 overall.
- Pass the exam hurdle: at least 40% of the available exam marks.
Your final mark totals the individual assessment items, with the caveat that the examiners' conference may scale it to produce your overall course grade.
Feedback, late work and appeals
- Marks and feedback are pushed to a new branch on your GitLab fork of each assignment, and later uploaded to Streams.
- Late submissions aren't accepted unless pre-approved.
- You have two weeks from a mark's release to appeal it; after that it's locked in. You can also apply for special assessment consideration, as in any ANU course.
Academic integrity
ANU's academic integrity rules apply to every aspect of your work in this course. In particular, it's your responsibility to keep your assessment work away from other students, including locking your computer whenever you step away from it.
Software: the "own machine" policy
You can install the required course software on your own machine, but support for problems there is limited: the Linux Virtual Desktop Infrastructure is already set up as an alternative. Either way, check your code runs on the standard School of Computing Linux image before you submit, to rule out version mismatches.
Copyright
Course material (slides, recordings, assignments, tutorial corrections) is the property of ANU or its licensors. Don't reproduce it or make it accessible elsewhere, including on personal sites or public git repos.
