倪瓒 · Ni Zan
A small shrine to Ni Zan (倪瓒, 1301–1374), sobriquet 云林 — “cloud forest.” He painted the same near bank, the same empty water and the same far hills for twenty years, and almost never a person. Three rooms here, each barely larger than what it holds.
- The life — a fortune given away, and two decades on a houseboat around Lake Tai.
- Rongxi Studio — a close reading of the 1372 painting, made two years before his death.
- Colophon — a note on why this page looks the way it does.
