the ninajirachi story

Nina Jo Wilson, born 10 August 1999, grew up on the Central Coast of New South Wales. She mixed the coastline with online life — video games, fantasy worlds, and heroes like Lady Gaga and Porter Robinson — and started making music before she'd even finished primary school, in rudimentary Garageband sessions that turned into a lifelong obsession.

soundcloud → triple j

Once her productions and remixes felt ready, she uploaded them to SoundCloud and YouTube, then submitted to triple j Unearthed, becoming an Unearthed High finalist two years running. A trip to Sydney at 16 led to a connection with Nina Las Vegas, who signed her to the NLV imprint under the name Ninajirachi.

breakthrough

Her 2017 track "Pure Luck" (feat. Freya Staer) gained traction on triple j radio and became her first real breakthrough. She went on to become one of the first landmark names of Australia's hyperpop scene — a restless innovator and collaborator known across the electronic underground and overground alike.

on the road

She's played major festivals including Spilt Milk and Lollapalooza, opened for stars like Charli xcx and Cashmere Cat, and headlined tours of her own — see the discography page for the records that soundtracked it all.
