Links & Webrings
If you don't know what a webring is, it's basically a chain of pages all built around the same thing — in this case, rap records, old and new — so you can hop from one to the next without having to go back to some search engine that doesn't even know what you're looking for half the time. I found most of these through other pages just like mine, and I figure the least I can do is pass the favor along. Click through, sign their guestbooks too if they still work, and tell 'em Harkirat sent you.
Sites I like
- The Boombox Basement — one guy's tape-trading page, mostly dubbed radio rips and a want-list that never seems to get shorter.
- Wax Poetics Radio Hour (Archive Page) — old show notes and setlists from a college radio rap show that used to air Thursday nights.
- The Cipher — bar-for-bar lyric breakdowns, way before anybody else was doing this, updated whenever the guy running it has time.
- DAT Tape Vault — a digging page for rare freestyles and radio exclusives, half the links are dead but the ones that work are worth it.
- 88 Bars a Minute — a scrolling list of favorite verses with zero explanation, just the bars, which honestly rules.
- Boom Bap Bulletin Board — a message board for people who think rap peaked at some point and want to argue about when.
- Old Skool No Sellouts — a real bare-bones page but the guy's opinions on classic records are all correct so it stays linked.
- Crate Digger's Corner — sample-source page, matches breakbeats to the records that stole 'em, endless rabbit hole.

These are the rings and badges I'm proud to fly on this page — click any one of 'em to keep the chain going.
