Coming Up

FCS 7 is pencilled in for early 2002, venue still to be confirmed. Word from the Millbrook gym scene is that “Big” Joe Turner is angling for a rematch with “Iron” Mike Delgado — nothing official yet. Check the Site News on the home page for updates.

FCS 6: Winter War

11 November 2001 — Millbrook Armory, Millbrook

The Armory sold out for the first time in the promotion’s history, and the card delivered. In the headline bout, “Iron” Mike Delgado bounced back from his decision loss to “Big” Joe Turner back in September by pressuring Danny “The Hurricane” Okafor against the fence for two full rounds before the referee stepped in. On the undercard, Sam “Snakebite” Whitfield bounced back from his FCS 4 setback in style, dragging Rocco Salerno to the mat and finishing with a tight rear naked choke inside the first round.

FCS 5: No Surrender

22 September 2001 — Millbrook Armory, Millbrook

Billed as a battle of styles, the main event lived up to it: “Big” Joe Turner used a full three rounds of wrestling and top control to take a clear decision off “Iron” Mike Delgado, who’d come in as the betting favourite after his FCS 4 win. Danny Okafor made quick work of Rocco Salerno on the undercard, catching him with a right hand along the fence and following up with strikes until the referee called it off just over a minute in.

FCS 4: Homecoming

14 July 2001 — Coldwater Fairgrounds, Coldwater

The promotion’s first show outside Millbrook drew a rowdy hometown crowd for local wrestler “Big” Joe Turner, who obliged by grinding out Tommy “Tank” Briggs against the cage until the strikes piled up too high for the referee’s liking. In a card full of upsets, Danny Okafor handed Sam Whitfield his first loss on record, timing a takedown defence into a clean decision win.
