Week 4 Session: Reading Price
A chart-reading workshop — candlesticks, volume and trend, read on real historical charts without acting on them
Session
15 March 2027
A chart-interpretation session, applying this week’s candlestick, volume and trend vocabulary to real historical charts — with no simulated trade placed against any of them.
What you’re given
A set of historical price charts (candlesticks and volume, unlabelled) drawn from real market history, used here purely as reading material rather than a trading decision.
What you do
Annotate each chart: mark at least one trend, one range, and one support/resistance zone, then write down what you’d still need to know before treating any of those marks as a reason to trade — the lecture’s observation-versus-assumption line, applied by hand.
What you produce
A set of annotated charts plus, per chart, one sentence on what’s missing between “I can see this pattern” and “this is a reason to act.”
Why it matters
Weeks 5 through 7 assume this vocabulary is already shared — nobody re-learns what a support zone is once risk and trade plans enter the picture.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- can label at least one trend, one range, and one support/resistance level on a given chart
- can state one reason a chart pattern alone is not enough to trade on
