- Ask in a session, with the log in front of you. Email only when a question cannot wait for the next one.
Idris lectures the weeks that turn on a decision rather than a derivation, and runs the crits.
Their actual job is reconciliation. In every crit they will ask you to reproduce one figure in your report from other figures in your report, and most of the time it does not reconcile on the first attempt — a fee was omitted, a price was the last one on the screen rather than the one transacted at, a percentage was taken of the wrong denominator. None of that is carelessness; it is what happens when somebody writes down a number they already believe.
They would rather find it in week 6 than have a marker find it in week 12, which is the entire reason the crit sits before the deadline instead of after it.
Bring the log. Not slides about the log, not a summary — the rows, with the side of the quote you transacted on, which is the field almost everyone leaves out in the first fortnight.
