The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity and getting help.

Policies and support

Late work

Work submitted after the deadline loses 5% of the available marks per day, to a maximum of five days, after which it is not accepted. The midterm has no late-work provision — it is sat in tutorial, under the conditions described on its page, or not at all.

Extensions

Ask your tutor before the deadline, not after. A short, specific reason is enough; you do not need to disclose more than that. Extensions requested after work is already late are considered case by case and are not guaranteed.

Academic integrity

The analysis must be yours. Discussing a case with a classmate is encouraged — half the point of a market is that other people see things in it you don’t — but the signal design, the redesign, and the argument you submit must be your own work, correctly cited where it draws on someone else’s. The work must be yours; the market failure isn’t.

Every persona, profile, and case used across this course’s assessments is fictional. Submitting a real, identifiable person’s real profile or relationship — yours or anyone else’s — is itself a breach, independent of what mark it might earn.

Getting help

Tutorials are the first place to ask — bring the specific thing you’re stuck on, not a general “I don’t get it.” Outside tutorial hours, contact your tutor directly; contact details are on the people page.
