Why it is on the list
In adults who had recently moved and in first-year students followed over nine weeks, hours spent together were associated with becoming closer. Leisure time and everyday talk predicted closeness. Week 9 uses that association to ask what opportunities people have to spend time together. It does not supply a timetable for a particular friendship or an hours-before-disclosure rule. The paper’s specific hour figures are in its full text, which the course could not access, so the course doesn’t quote them.
