May designed this course after noticing how much of her own understanding of Korea came from watching television she’d originally put on for fun. She teaches every screening herself, which is also why the syllabus only runs one drama at a time: twelve weeks is already a lot of television to hold a classroom’s attention through.
Office hours are informal — email to find a time, or catch her for five minutes after a screening. Written feedback on essays comes back within two weeks; anything urgent enough not to wait for that should go by email, subject line first.
