Idris runs the workshops, which means they do most of the actual teaching on this course.
Their background is in subtitling and translation for film, a job that consists almost entirely of discovering that two languages do not divide the world the same way and having ninety minutes and a character limit to do something about it. Weeks seven and eleven are theirs in spirit even when Marisol is lecturing.
They are responsible for the practice of asking, without notice, that you produce any phoneme on your own inventory. This is not showmanship. Roughly half of every cohort has written down a sound they cannot actually make, and finding that out in week two costs you an afternoon while finding it out in week twelve costs you the crit.
