The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity, spoilers and getting help.

Policies and support

This page is the course’s canon policy. Where an assessment brief and this page disagree, this page wins.

Late work

Written work submitted late loses 5% of the available marks for each working day it is late, for up to five working days. After that, it is not marked.

The Continuity Briefing cannot be late. If you miss your rostered seminar with an extension, you are rostered into a later one.

Extensions

Email the convenor before the due date with the reason and the date you need. Extensions for illness or hardship need documentation, supplied within five working days of the request. Tutors cannot grant extensions.

Academic integrity

Your work must be your own. Quote and cite anything you take from anyone else: a critic, a trade report, a fan theory. A fan wiki is a good place to find a fact and a poor place to cite one. Cite the episode.

You may use generative AI tools to find sources and check facts. Say so at the end of the submission: which tool, and what for. Text a tool writes for you is not your work.

Spoilers

Everything on a seminar’s list of what to bring may be discussed in full from the start of that seminar. Spoilers for set viewing are not grounds for a complaint.

Getting help

Ask your tutor first, in the seminar or by email. If that doesn’t resolve it, email the convenor. Both are listed on the People page, with what each one handles.
