Week 1 Session: Tutorial 1: bring nothing, bullshit anyway
Week 1's tutorial — a low-stakes run at the live demonstration from lecture, before anything you say here is worth a mark
22 February 2027
The lecture demonstrated it; this session is where you try it yourself, badly, in front of people who will forget by next week. Nothing here is graded — the first fortnightly checkpoint is next week, and this is the rehearsal.
In the session#
- pairs take turns bullshitting a topic pulled at random, ninety seconds each
- the room calls out the exact sentence where the bullshit started working
- a short debrief on what “confident” actually sounded like versus what felt confident from the inside
Afterwards#
Nothing is due. What you leave with is a rough sense of your own tell — useful going into a semester where you’ll be asked to hide it.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you attend and take one turn talking about something you don't understand
- you can name the moment your own bullshit started to sound convincing to you
