Week 12 Lab: The gallery
Week 12 lab, the final gallery, where each setup goes up and its owner defends it to the room
10 May 2027
The last lab, and the one the whole semester was rehearsing for.
Before the lab#
Bring the finished rice, reproducible from your repository, the composed screenshot and its defence, and the time audit.
In the lab#
Each setup goes up in turn. You present, you defend, and the room asks the questions a photograph cannot field: why this manager, why this palette, what the empty module was avoiding. A rice that only ever sat behind glass has to survive being talked about. We close by reading each desktop back to its owner as the portrait it is.
Afterwards#
You leave with a defended body of work, a semester of feedback behind you, and permission, at last, to stop configuring.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- your finished rice is presented to the room with its screenshot and defence
- you can answer questions the screenshot cannot answer on its own
- you can name what your desktop reveals about you, before the room does
