Renata spent eleven years auditing restaurant groups before their books ever became public, reading the same profit-and-loss statements a diner never sees. She founded Closure Studies after noticing that every failed restaurant she’d ever audited had left a public trail that told most of the story anyway — reviews, inspection records, an abandoned delivery-app listing — and that nobody was teaching students to read it.
She runs the weeks built on evidence you can put a number on: choosing a viable specimen, the location audit, reading a menu as financial disclosure, and testing the landlord’s-fault story everyone reaches for first. Office hours are by email; there is no drop-in slot, because a course about evidence should run on scheduled appointments, not ambient availability.
