Tomas came to this course sideways, from a research career on Frankfurt’s philosophy of bullshit, and now spends most of his time arguing that “synthetic media forensics” is really applied epistemology wearing a lab coat. He teaches the two weeks most people expect to be the driest — the arms race in week 8, and the ethics of accusation in week 11 — and has made peace with being wrong about that expectation every year.
