Priya spent six years doing forensic media review for newsrooms before moving into teaching it. She designed this course around a simple complaint: most “media literacy” material treats every claim the same way, when a claim about a photo, a video and a paragraph of text each demands a different kind of scrutiny. She teaches weeks 1 and 12 — the ones that have to make the whole semester cohere.
