Moana talks in materials before she talks in ideas — what’s lying around, what it wants to become, what happens if you hand half of it to someone you’ve just met. Ask her what Crossing 5 is “about” and she’ll pick up whatever’s on the bench instead of answering directly: cardboard, wire, a broken umbrella left in the Maker Space. Give it to a stranger, she’ll say, and see what you both build that neither of you would have alone. She trails off mid-sentence more than her colleagues would allow themselves, usually because she’s spotted a better example on the bench — the same instinct that makes Crossing 5 work: stop finishing the thought alone.
